Robert

Robert preaching on the Bible

Robert develops exegetical tools to aid translators in making their translations more accurate and consistent. These tools are incorporated into The Translators Workplace, a CD ROM that translators can transport to remote villages in place of a suitcase of 'paper' books. Projects he has worked on include: Scripture testing questions, Bible Background series, Exegetical Summaries, Biblical Proper names, Speech types in the Bible, New Testament parallel passages, Metaphors in the New Testament, and Section headings in the entire Bible.

Recently, he published An Exegetical Summary of Galatians in paperback form. Currently, he is editing The Translator’s Notes series for Galatians, John, Mark and Revelation.

Verna

Verna receiving her Master of Arts degree

Until recently, Verna was involved in developing linguistic and scripture checking software to aid translators in doing a more thorough analysis of the unwritten language they are converting to print for the first time. She has had a significant role in the development of LinguaLinks, a software environment for managing the vernacular data involved in a translation project. In addition, she was part of the team writing the Scripture Checking tool that is packaged with Paratext.

In May 2005, she received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling at Dallas Baptist University. She passed the Texas State licensure examination to become a Professional Counselor. In January 2008, she completed the requirements to obtain her Texas State licensure as a Professional Counselor. She is currently counseling missionaries and missionary applicants at the Wycliffe Counseling Department in Dallas, Texas.
