Robert’s work

Robert continues to edit “Translator’s Notes on Galatians: helps on understanding and translating Paul’s letter to the Galatians”. The purpose of the Translator’s Notes series is to provide translation assistance in simplified English for ‘mother tongue’ translators, speakers of minority languages who are translating scripture into their own languages.

Please pray for Robert as he assists with editing during a workshop to publish “Translator’s Notes on Mark” from April 16 – May 11.

Verna’s work

Verna has been very busy counseling missionaries and missionary applicants. She feels rewarded and fulfilled when her clients make progress and share their appreciation with her. Some of her clients have written:

“Thank you so much for investing yourself into our lives. We appreciate your wisdom in guiding us through issues. God has used you to strengthen our family and marriage. We appreciate your ministry to us. Please express our gratitude to all those who support you in this work.”

“Thank you for taking the time to listen and for all your good advice. Our times together have been very helpful to me.”

“Thank you for your ministry to my sister over the past month. She left your counsel with good tools to face family challenges. May God bless your ministry.”

“I do want to let you know I've appreciated talking to you and I'll be working on your suggestions. Thanks so much!”

“Thank you for your time and patience. I really appreciate you.”

“I am stunned, even flabbergasted that anyone would be willing to do this for me, for no other reason than to help me grow up into the person God planned for me to be. To say that I am grateful to God for giving you the gifts to make this happen and thankful that you are patiently using them for my benefit seems inadequate. I thank you from both my head and my heart.”

“Thank you so much for the invaluable counsel that you have given us. We appreciate you.”

Family news

In September, Verna flew to Nova Scotia, Canada to visit her mother, who is 81 years old, and her sister, Delores and her family. Pictured below is Delores’ new house.

Delores' New House

At our own house, we have been busy doing some renovating. Our house is 26 years old and the floor coverings desperately needed to be replaced. We have spent many Saturdays and evenings tearing out linoleum, grinding off old adhesive, and laying new ceramic tile. Our bodies told us repeatedly that we weren’t as young as we used to be, but we didn’t listen.

Congratulations to our grandson, Nathaniel, for being among the top ten kindergarten students in the Greenville School Division to be selected into the Texas Gifted and Talented program.

Thank you

Thank you so much for your faithfulness in praying for us and supporting us financially. Since Verna’s clients are Wycliffe missionaries, she does not charge them for her services. We continue to look to Father God to provide for us financially; and he uses people like you for this ministry of provision.

Please pray for us as we plan a trip to Western Canada this summer to visit our supporting churches and friends.
