Robert’s work
Robert keeps plugging away on the Exegetical Summary for the book of Galatians. He has finished the first four chapters. Currently, he is on verse six of Chapter five. This project is quite tedious since he reads through seventeen commentaries and eleven versions of the English Bible and then summarizes all this information verse by verse. It is estimated to take another two years before publication.
Verna’s study program
Verna is in her last semester in the Master of Arts Counseling program at Dallas Baptist University. She has put in many hours of Practice Counseling at the Cedars Psychiatric Hospital in Desoto, Texas. She is excited that she has been able to share scripture with most of her clients and pray with them. Three of them have prayed the sinner’s prayer with her. Her graduation is set for May 12th, which is also our 32nd wedding anniversary. What a celebration that will be! Thank you for your prayers and your financial support toward her tuition costs.
Verna’s work
Verna has continued to write the software for publishing the electronic version of Word & Deed and has continued email support for LinguaLinks while studying to become a Counselor. Recently, she received a letter from the Wycliffe Counseling Ministries Acceptance Committee, which states, “In light of your excellent qualities and qualifications, the committee voted unanimously to approve your acceptance into the Wycliffe Counselor Development and Orientation Course”. Therefore, upon graduation Verna will be moving from Language Software Development into the Counseling Department. She has already been asked to develop software to track the data from certain Counseling scenarios. Praise the Lord that she will be able to incorporate her software abilities along with her new counseling skills.
Family news
In September, we received news that Robert’s mother was failing. We immediately made arrangements for Robert to fly to Indiana, but before he could leave, she passed on. So instead we drove to Indiana for the funeral and our son, Jason accompanied us.
In January, we traveled to San Diego, California in the hope that we could visit our son, Jeremy, who is incarcerated in the Donovan State Prison in San Diego. However, when we arrived at the prison, the prison officials refused to let us see him. That was a great disappointment both to us and to him. We haven’t seen him in over two years.

In our spare time (What spare time?), we’ve been helping Jason and Anna build a retreat cabin in the Kiamichi Wilderness in Oklahoma. It’s a wonderful family project and a great place to get away for some rest and relaxation!
Thank you
